history

Borovnice was probably founded after 1437 by the Lords of Pernstein in the course of settling the forests on the border with Bohemia. The first documentary mention of the village belonging to the Pernstein manor took place in 1483 when the Borovnice judge delivered the contribution for 20 farms in Bystřice . Since the Swarczawa was an unregulated torrent at that time, it changed its course several times. This resulted in a long-lasting border conflict with the council of the Bohemian town of Polička , which Vratislav von Pernstein resolved in 1487. When the Pernstein dominion was divided, Borovnice came to the Ingrowitz part in 1500 . The existence of the pilgrimage chapel of St. Anna can be proven until 1714. The first place seal is handed down from 1749. After the Josephine reforms , the pilgrimage chapel was demolished in 1790. Until 1848 the village remained subordinate to the Ingrowitz rule.

After the abolition of patrimonial Borovnice formed with the settlement Kutiny from 1850 a municipality in the political district of Neustadtl . At that time the village had 524 inhabitants. In 1910 Borovnice reached its largest population with 567 inhabitants. After the Munich Agreement , Borovnice was briefly on the border of the German Empire . On October 8, 1938, Czechoslovak troops moved to Borovnice, as Politschka and the upper part of Fahnendorf had to be handed over to Hitler's Germany by October 10 . After the final border determination on November 21, the area of Politschka was returned to Czechoslovakia and on November 24 the Wehrmacht withdrew from the upper village of Korouhev. On December 4, 1938, the Czechoslovak army left Borovnice. In 1949 the municipality was assigned to the Okres Polička. Since 1961 it belongs to the Okres Žďár nad Sázavou. In 1976 it was incorporated into Jimramov . Borovnice has existed again since November 24, 1990.
