The first written mention of the village belonging to the Přibyslav rule took place in 1502, when the place together with Polná fell behind after the death of Hynko Boček von Kunstadt . The place got its name from the pigs that used to be abundant here. In 1786 the first wooden schoolhouse was built. Until the abolition of patrimonial Vepřová belonged to the united lordship of Polná-Přibyslav.
From 1850 Vepříkov formed a municipality in the political district of Polna . In 1884 she came to the Chotěboř District . Iron ore was mined in the vicinity of the village at that time. There was a grinder and board saw in Vepříkov. In 1914 a major fire destroyed eight houses and one resident died. Since 1919 the village has been called Vepřová. In 1947 it was assigned to the Okres Žďár .
