The main source of the Chrudimka is located northeast of the settlement of Paseky . To the west is the Krejcar pond.

Neighboring towns are Paseky in the north, Svratouch in the east, Svratka in the southeast, Herálec in the south, Kuchyně, Krejcar, Lhoty and Vortová in the southwest, Rejha and Lány in the west and Kameničky and Filipov in the northwest.

history

The village was first mentioned in documents in 1392 when Smil Flaška von Pardubitz passed the rule of Richenburg with the associated 62 villages to Otto von Bergow and Boček II from Podebrady. An older mention in connection with the establishment of the parish in Kameniczka in 1350 is not certain. Chlumětín has always been parish after Kameniczka, but it is believed that there was another village in the area called Chlumětín since the 13th century. Together with Lhota ( Lhoty ), Přerostlé , Blatná ( Blatno ) and Jeníkov, Chlumětín was under the judge in Reychlowa Kamenicze . In 1454 Ladislaus Postumus sold the Richenburg estate to Jan Pardus von Horka and Vratkov. Wilhelm von Waldstein later acquired it and lost it again in 1547 through confiscation due to participation in the uprising against the Habsburgs. In 1584 the village consisted of five farms, which were later divided into half-hooves. In the Middle Ages, the short course of the Chlumětínský potok was dammed in several large ponds. The last remaining one is the Krejcar, which was formerly called Starý rybník ( Old Pond ). During the Thirty Years War the village was ravaged by the Swedes. In 1677 the village that had been parish to Kameničky was assigned to the Kollatur Hlinsko. In the second half of the 18th century the parish to Svratka took place . In 1797, French troops moved through the town on the way from Moravia to Silesia. In the same year Hungarian and Croatian armies marched via Chlumětín to Poland. The Muscovites invaded in 1799, followed by the French in 1805 and, during the Austro-Prussian War in 1809, the Austrians. After the tolerance patent of 1781, numerous residents converted to the Reformed Church . In 1783, 99 residents of Chlumietin joined the newly established Reformed Church in Svratouch. In 1819 Chlumětín got its own school, before teaching in Svratka. In 1823, Count Philipp Kinsky sold the Richenburg estate to Karl Alexander von Thurn und Taxis . In 1829 the village consisted of 58 houses. Of the 383 inhabitants, 329 were Catholics, 49 Protestants and five Jews. By 1841 Chlumětín had grown to 65 houses and had 425 residents.

After the abolition of patrimonial Chlumětín formed a municipality in the Chrudim district from 1850 . In 1880 there were 539 people living in Chlumětín, including 46 residents from Krejcar and 34 from Paseky. 459 people lived in Chlumětín itself, which was the highest number of inhabitants in the history of the place. In the 19th century, a textile industry developed from the previous home weaving via manufacturing, which led to an increase in the population. In 1885 the Chlumětín Volunteer Fire Brigade was founded . In 1900 the community had 522 inhabitants. In 1930 502 people lived in the village. After the end of the Second World War , 139 residents left Chlumětín and settled in the Sudeten areas. In 1949 the municipality was assigned to the Okres Hlinsko and since the beginning of 1961 it has belonged to the Okres Žďár nad Sázavou . In 1981 Chlumětín was incorporated into Svratka. The community has existed again since 1990. The community has had a coat of arms since 2002. As of August 1, 2002, Chlumětín had 208 inhabitants.
