history
The first documentary mention comes from the year 1349. At that time the place was on the old trade route from Bohemia to Moravia and belonged to the lords of Rychmburg , later to the noble family von Pardubitz . In 1834 it received city rights. The originally agricultural town, which was dominated by craftsmen, developed over time into an industrial town. This expansion accelerated after 1871 when Hlinsko was connected to the Havlíčkův Brod – Pardubice railway . The fur and clothing industry settled there, a brewery was opened, a milk processing plant and a quarry settled there. From 1865 to 1919 and from 1949 to 1960 Hlinsko was a district town, which was responsible for the entire center of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands. After 1919 it was assigned to the Okres Chrudim .
