history

The first written mention of the place took place in 1344, when Vilém Křeš from Smrček appeared as a witness in the determination of the border between the newly founded bishopric Litomyšl and the Podlažice monastery . The Fixed Smrček extinguished during the Hussite and was rebuilt by Apolon of Křivan 1441st At the end of the 15th century, the Lords Záruba von Hustířan acquired the Smrček manor and joined it to the Žumberk rule . Rudolf Freiherr von Lissa, who had acquired the Žumberk rule in 1694 from the Záruba von Hustířan, sold it in 1701 together with the Libanitz estate to Joseph Franz von Schönfeld . This united both goods with the Nassaberg rule . With his death in 1737 the Counts von Schönfeld died out in the male line; his daughter and universal heiress Maria Katharina married Johann Adam von Auersperg in 1746 , who inherited the Nassaberg rule in 1753 after the death of his wife. In 1795 Johann Adam's nephew Karl Joseph Franz von Auersperg took over the rule for Johann Adam's adoptive son and universal heir Vincenz von Auersperg (1790–1812). Since he died shortly after reaching the age of majority, until his death in 1822 Karl Joseph Franz von Auersperg administered together with the widow Gabriela Maria, née von Lobkowitz, the lordships of Nassaberg, Schleb and Tupadl for the underage son Vincenz Karl Joseph von Auersperg ( 1812-1867).

In 1835, the in consisted Chrudim District village located Smrtschek or Smerček of 25 houses, where 191 people lived. There was a public chapel of St. Anna, a farm and a sheep farm; The forester's house Hořička lay apart. The parish was Schumberg . Until the middle of the 19th century, Smrtschek remained subject to Nassaberg rule.

After the abolition of patrimonial Smrček formed from 1849 a district of the market town Žumberk in the judicial district of Nassaberg . From 1868 the village belonged to the political district of Chrudim . In 1869 Smrček had 218 inhabitants. At the end of the 19th century Smrček broke away from Žumberk and formed its own municipality. In 1900 there were 224 people in Smrček, compared to 207 in 1910. In 1964 Smrček was incorporated into Horka . Since January 1st, 1992 the municipality of Smrček exists again. On February 28, 2017, the Smrček-Na sádkách settlement was declared a district.
