history

The first written mention of the village Stětín, which belongs to the church in Nasavrky and has 21 inhabitants, took place in 1667. At that time, Protestant emissaries from Prussia moved through the area to lure the population to emigrate. Later the village came under the Nasavrky rule.

In 1835 the village of Ctětin , located in the Chrudim district , consisted of 17 houses in which 138 people, including three Protestant families, lived. The parish was Nassaberg . Until the middle of the 19th century, Ctětin remained subject to the Nassaberg rule.

After the abolition of patrimonial Ctětín formed from 1849 a district of the municipality Krupín in the judicial district Nassaberg . From 1868 the village belonged to the political district of Chrudim . In 1869 Ctětín had 223 inhabitants. In 1900 237 people lived in the village, in 1910 there were 296. The main sources of income were quarrying and agriculture. In 1927 the municipality of Krupín was dissolved; the villages Bratroňov, Ctětín, Strkov and Vranov formed the municipality of Ctětín. In 1949 the community was assigned to the newly formed Okres Hlinsko, and since 1961 it has belonged again to Okres Chrudim. In 2011 the community had 258 inhabitants.

Granite stick

Ctětín is located in the northern part of the Nassaberger Pluton , a triangular granite stock with an area of 200 km². The deposit consists mainly of granodiorite , the proportion of real granite is low.

The rock was mined in a large number of small quarries. At the beginning of the 20th century, quarrying was the main source of income for Ctětín. After all quarries were shut down at the end of the 20th century, a quarry was resumed around 2000 and the stone extracted was processed into paving stones.
