history

The first written mention of Morašice took place in 1226, when Jan von Morašice signed Ottokar I. Přemysl as a witness on a document . The church has been documented since 1350. Other landlords were Tristram von Barchov in the middle of the 15th century and Lord Andiel von Ronowec ( Anděl z Ronovce ) from the end of the 15th century , who later also acquired the Heřmanův Městec estate . In 1541 the brothers Burian and Sigmund Andiel von Ronowec shared the paternal inheritance; Burian received the Morašice estate, Sigmund the Heřmanův Městec estate. In 1544 Burian Andiel von Ronowec sold Morašice to Nikolaus Štítný von Štítné. He expanded the estate, had new farm buildings, a tree garden and ponds created. He was supported by his future son-in-law Peter Hamza von Zábědovice; a clever housekeeper, who at this time also took over the management of the extensive Pernstein property on behalf of Johann von Pernstein's young sons . In 1557, the widow Johanna Hamzová inherited the Hrochův Týnec estate, which belonged to her deceased husband, and ran both of them herself. Three years later she married her second cousin Prokop Štítný von Štítné, to whom she left Hrochův Týnec. After the death of her mother and stepfather, Eva Špetlová from Zábědovice took over the Morašice estate. Like her mother, she was an energetic woman who ran the business herself and raised the Morašice estate to one of the most important mansions in the Chrudim region. In 1597 Eva Špetlová Morašice bequeathed her will to the brothers Myslibor Hamza and Pavel Bořek von Zábědovice. The Hamza von Zábědovice family of Vladiken ( Hamsa von Zabiedowitz ) held the Morašice estate until 1661; the subsequent owner Johann von Sporck united the estate with Heřmanmiestetz. The Morašice fortress lost its importance as a manor; it was left to decay and eventually demolished. In 1798, the Counts of Sporck sold the Heřmanmiestetz estate to the Barons von Greiffenclau , and from 1828 it belonged to Prince Kinsky .

In 1835, the in consisted Chrudim District village located Moraschitz or Morassice of 57 houses, where 399 people lived. Until the middle of the 19th century, Moraschitz remained subject to the allodial rule Heřmanmiestetz.

After the abolition of patrimonial formed Morašice / Moraschitz 1849 with the districts Dlubín, Dolany, Holičky and Úherčice a municipality in the judicial district Chrudim . From 1868 the municipality belonged to the political district of Chrudim . At the end of the 19th century a new schoolhouse was built; two cellars and wells of the fortress were exposed. Holičky and Úherčice broke up in 1919 and formed their own communities. In 1961 Holičky, Janovice, Skupice and Zbyhněvice were incorporated. Since 2001 the community has had a coat of arms and a banner. The former school is now used as a kindergarten.
