After the Thirty Years' War the parish became extinct and the Church of St. Gallus became a branch church of the parish Žumberk . The restaurant was established in 1787 during the time of Emperor Joseph II.

In 1835 the village Kosteletz , located in the Chrudim district , consisted of 39 houses in which 245 people, including three Protestant families, lived. The local church of St. Gallus, the localist house and the school were under the patronage of the Religionsfonds . There was also a mill in the village. The Meierhof Tein lay apart. Until the middle of the 19th century Kosteletz remained subject to the Nassaberg rule.

After the abolition of patrimonial Kostelec formed from 1849 with the district Čejřov a municipality judicial district Nassaberg . From 1868 the municipality belonged to the political district of Chrudim . In 1869 Kostelec had 273 inhabitants. In 1871 the Deutschbrod – Pardubitz railway was opened. In 1900 there were 302 people in the village, compared to 357 in 1910. Since 1924 the municipality has been using the official name Vrbatův Kostelec to distinguish it from Kostelec u Heřmanova Městce . In 1930 the village of Vrbatův Kostelec had 454 inhabitants.
