The Žejbro , formerly also Černý potok (German Black Bach , Wildbach ) is a left tributary of the Novohradka in the Czech Republic .

course

The Žejbro rises southwest of Oldřiš in the northern foothills of the Saar Mountains ( Žďárské vrchy ). On its upper course, where it was previously called Černý potok or Black Brook , the brook flows through Oldřiš and then with a northerly, later northwestern direction into the Skutečská pahorkatina ( Skutscher hill country ). At Žďárec u Skutče the Žejbro is bridged by the railway line Svitavy – Žďárec u Skutče . Other places on this section are Na Obci, Leštinka and V Týně.

On its middle course, where the Žejbro was formerly known as a torrent , the creek breaks through the eastern part of the Iron Mountains ( Železné hory ) between Vrbatův Kostelec , Skála, Podskála and Chacholice . On this section the stream takes a northward direction again.

The lower reaches of the Žejbro leads past Podlažice , Kadaň, Chrast , Chrašice, Rosice , Horní Seslávky, Synčany, Brčekoly and Blansko over the Hrochotýnecká tabule ( Hrochowteinitzer Tafel ). After 30.8 km of Žejbro flows near Psotnov in the Novohradka . Its catchment area covers 96.2 km², the mean flow rate at the mouth is 0.54 m³ / s.

water sports

The Žejbro is - depending on the water level - to max. Open to traffic for 21 km from Žďárec u Skutče. The creek is divided into three whitewater sections. In years of drought, the stream in the Skutečská pahorkatina dries up. In August 2003 the Žejbro near Leštinka was dry, in August 2015 it did not have any water near Vrbatův Kostelec either.
