course

The Novohradka rises as Vranický potok at 649 m. ü. M. in the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands east of the district Paseky in the municipality Proseč and initially runs north. Between Bor u Skutče and Jarošov it breaks through the nature reserve of the sandstone rock town of Toulovcovy maštale in a narrow valley , from which several streams flow. At Nové Hrady the river turns to the northwest and at Luže it flows onto the Chrudimer Tafel. The river runs through Lozice , Jenišovice , Chroustovice , Čankovice , Hrochův Týnec , Vejvanovice , Dvakačovice and Úhřetice to Úhřetická Lhota , where it rises after 49.2 km at 229.5 m above sea level. M. joins the Chrudimka. Its catchment area is 470 km².
