history

The village of Janovice probably originated in the 11th century. The church, built in the first half of the 13th century, was first mentioned as a parish church in 1350. The village of Janovice was mentioned for the last time in 1454; it fell desolate and died out in the second half of the 15th century. Only the Romanesque-Gothic church of the Annunciation, which is surrounded by a cemetery and was assigned to the Parish of Skuteč as a subsidiary church, has survived .

A count Berka von Dubá had a foundation set up at the church, from which the poor of the area were fed every year at the church festival. According to legend, the foundation for the atonement of the count for the punishment of his daughter Markéta with starvation is said to have been made by walling up the Richenburg .

In 1741 the owner of the Richenburg estate, Stephan Wilhelm Graf Kinsky , had the old church, which was in danger of collapsing, demolished and a new church built on the slope above the cemetery. The baroque building, built according to the plans of the builder Donato Felice d'Allio , was consecrated in 1746 by the Skutscher dean František Jeroným Bartoň. The Foundation for the Feeding of the Poor was transferred to the Convent of the Brothers of Mercy in Prague at the end of the 18th century .

In 1835 the Janowitschek deserted area in the Chrudim district consisted only of the branch church of the Annunciation, which stood alone in the forest on a hill, and was conscripted after Dolly .

After the abolition of patrimonial Janovičky belonged from 1849 to the municipality Doly in the judicial district of Skutsch and from 1868 to the political district Hohenmauth . In the second half of the 19th century, a few houses were built in the valley north of the church. In 1961 Janovičky was assigned to the Okres Chrudim. On January 1, 1981 Janovičky was incorporated into Luže together with Doly. Today Janovičky consists of four houses, the church and the cemetery.
