The first mention of Doly was carried out in 1392 in the Landtafel as Smil Flaška of Pardubitz the Richenburg with the associated 62 villages to Otto von Bergow and Boček II. Of Podiebrad handed. The oldest news about a mill on the Novohradka comes from 1651, it is about the later Kvášův mlýn . At the end of the 18th century, the four-wheeled Dolský mlýn was also built on the Novohradka . The stately Meierhof was abolished after 1780 and its corridors emphyteutized. After the introduction of compulsory schooling at the end of the 18th century, the children from Doly were initially educated in Luže . From 1823 school lessons took place in Brdo . Doly was subordinate to the local judge of Brdo.

In 1835 the scattered village of Dolly in the Chrudim district consisted of 37 houses in which 179 people lived. Two mills on the Neuschlosser Bach belonged to the place. The Janowitschek deserted area, consisting of the Skutsch branch church of the Annunciation and a cemetery, was consolidated to Dolly . The parish was Lusche . Until the middle of the 19th century, Dolly remained subject to the Richenburg rule.

After the abolition of patrimonial Doly formed from 1849 with the districts Brdo , Chlum , Dolany , Hlubočice , Rabouň and Rvasice a municipality in the judicial district of Skuch . From 1868 the community belonged to the political district Hohenmauth . In 1869 the village of Doly had 169 inhabitants and consisted of 38 houses. In 1900 there were 232 people living in Doly, in 1910 there were 222. In the Novohradka Valley, sand and gravel were mined at that time; In the 1920s, the entrepreneur Kosina from Voletice also built a crushing mill there , which had 20 employees. The volunteer fire brigade was founded in 1922. In 1930 Doly had 208 inhabitants. The districts of Chlum and Dolany were umgemeindet to Střítež in 1949 . In 1950 the miller Novotný stopped the mill in Dolský mlýn . Two years later, the last miller of the Kvášův mlýn , Vladimír Kváš, shut down his mill; the mill was partially demolished in the 1970s. In 1961 the community was assigned to the Okres Chrudim. Hlubočice and Rvasice lost their status as districts in March 1980 and were assigned to the district Rabouň. On January 1, 1981 Doly was incorporated into Luže. In the 2001 census, 65 people lived in Doly's 41 houses.

Because of the coal outcrop, between 1850 and 1921 approx. Seven large-scale mining attempts were made on hard coal in the vicinity of Doly . In ignorance of the geological conditions of the seam mountains, coal deposits were suspected under the plan cover of the massif surrounding the place. However, the coal-bearing layers mainly consist of gray clay and Latvian . Work in the search tunnels had to be stopped again after a length of 60-100 m, mostly due to the ingress of water or exhaustion of resources.
