Bílý Kůň (German white horse ) is a district of the municipality of Střemošice in the Czech Republic . It is located three kilometers southeast of Luže and belongs to the Okres Chrudim .

geography

Bílý Kůň is located in Novohradská stupňovina ( Neuschlosser stepland ). The village lies on both sides of the Střemošický creek shortly before its confluence with the Novohradka . State road II / 356 between Luže and Nové Hrady runs through the village . To the north rises the Farářství (445 m nm), in the southwest of the V Paletíně (377 m nm) and in the northwest the Klapalka (380 m nm). One and a half kilometers west of Bílý Kůň the Krounka flows into the Novohradka. The Údolí Krounky a Novohradky Nature Park extends to the south .

Neighboring towns are Domanice and Střemošice in the north, Pustina and Zádolí in the Northeast, Libecina , Habřiny, Dvořiště and Doubravice in the east, Leština , Podchlum, Chlum and Rvasice the southeast, Drahoš, U Prokopu and Rabouň in the south, Doly , Štěpánov and Nová Ves in South-west, Janovičky , Tišina and Košumberk in the west and Chlumek , Luže and Voletice in the north-west.

history

Bílý Kůň was first mentioned in a document in 1720. The settlement was established at a ford on the trade route from Luže to Litomyšl through the Střemošický potok. According to legend, a comrade of the Hussite leader Jan Žižka is said to have found his final resting place here; It is more likely, however, that it is derived from an inn "White Horse" ( Bílý kůň ). The settlement was divided between two lords; the houses to the left of the stream belonged to the rule Hrochow-Teinitz , the opposite side to the rule Koschumberg .

In 1835, the in consisted Chrudim District village situated white knight or Bjly Kun of 28 houses, where 235 people lived. Of these, 15 houses with 126 inhabitants belonged to Gut Koschumberg and were also included in the village of the same name. The Hrochow-Teinitzer share included an inn and a mill. The Koschumberg part was parish to Lusche , the Hrochow-Teinitzer part to Řepnik . Until the middle of the 19th century, Weiß-Rössel remained divided between the allodial rule of Hrochow-Teinitz and Koschumberg.

After the abolition of patrimonial Bílý Kůň belonged proportionally to the communities Střemošice and Košumberk in the judicial district Hohenmauth . From 1868 the village belonged to the political district Hohenmauth . The Koschumberg share consisting of 21 houses with 69 inhabitants was transferred to Střemošice on January 1, 1953. In the course of the municipal reform of 1960, the Okres Vysoké Mýto was repealed; Bílý Kůň was assigned to the Okres Chrudim .

The district of Bílý Kůň is part of the cadastral district of Střemošice. The one-layer U Prokopů belongs to Bílý Kůň.
