history

In the early days and the early Middle Ages, there were several fortifications on the plateaus above the Novohradka and Krounka valleys , which served to protect the trade routes. The village was probably created as a continuation of the fortifications, the place name indicates that it was laid out according to the Lote system. The first documentary mention of Lhota was in the country table in 1392 , when Smil Flaška von Pardubitz handed over the Richenburg with the associated 62 villages to Otto von Bergow and Boček II of Podebrady .

In 1835 the rustic village Lhota in the Chrudim district consisted of 29 houses in which 185 people lived. In the valley below Lhota there were three mills; the largest was called Wobora and consisted of three houses. The group Hinter-Borek ( Zadní Borek ) consisting of 4 houses was consolidated at Lhota . There was often a lack of water in Lhota. The residents lived from cultivating fields and fruit, and stone quarries were also operated. The parish was Skutsch , Hinter-Borek was parish in Richenburg . Until the middle of the 19th century Lhota remained subordinate to the Richenburg rule.

After the abolition of patrimonial Lhota formed from 1849 a district of the municipality Štěpánov in the judicial district of Skuch . In 1850, a large fire destroyed parts of the village, including the wooden chapel. From 1868 the village belonged to the political district Hohenmauth . In 1869 Lhota had 217 inhabitants and consisted of 34 houses. From the 1870s the village was called Rychmburská Lhota . In the 1880s the village broke away from Štěpánov and formed its own municipality under the name Lhota u Skutče . In 1900 there were 211 people in Lhota u Skutče, in 1910 there were 190. In 1930 the village had 163 inhabitants. In 1949 Lhota u Skutče was assigned to the newly formed Okres Hlinsko, and since 1961 the municipality has belonged to Okres Chrudim. The stone fountain on the village square was filled in in 1954. In 1960 it was incorporated into Zbožnov ; on July 1, 1985 Lhota u Skutče was incorporated together with Zbožnov to Skuteč. In the 2001 census, 68 people lived in the 32 houses of Lhota u Skutče.
