Skuteč (German Skutsch ) is a small town in the East Bohemian Okres Chrudim , it is northeast of the city of Hlinsko .
history
Skuteč was first mentioned in 1289 and at that time belonged to the royal chamber. From the beginning of the 14th century it had the status of a subject town and belonged to the Rychmburk rule . After 1538 it is called a town.
Since the 19th century, Skuteč developed into a center of the shoe and textile industry. In the vicinity of the city there are quarries where high quality granite is extracted.

Attractions
- Zvěřina House (Zvěřinův dům) with vaults from the 16th century.
- The Gothic deanery church of the Assumption from the 2nd half of the 14th century was rebuilt in the Renaissance style in 1550.
- The city church Corpus Christi was built from 1385-1391 according to plans by the Prague builder Peter Loutka on behalf of Smil Flaška von Pardubitz .
