The first documentary mention of the place took place in 1392 when Smil Flaška von Pardubitz sold the rule of Richenburg to Otto von Bergow . Since the 15th century, the village of Rychta in Kameničky was under the control .

In 1835 the rustic village Jenikau or Jenikow , located in the south of the Chrudim district , consisted of 83 houses in which 478 people lived. The main sources of income were agriculture, some fruit growing, as well as spinning, weaving and pottery. The Catholic parish was Kamenitschek , the Protestants were parish in Swratauch . Jenikau was always subject to the allodial rule of Richenburg until the middle of the 19th century .

After the abolition of patrimonial formed Jeníkov / Jenikau a municipality in the judicial district Hlinsko . From 1868 the municipality belonged to the political district of Chrudim . At the end of the 19th century, almost 550 people lived in the approx. 100 houses of Jeníkov. In 1949 the community was assigned to the newly created Okres Hlinsko; in the course of the municipal reform of 1960 she came back to Okres Chrudim . From 1976 to 1990 Jeníkov was incorporated into Hlinsko.
