Church of John the Baptist

Perálec (German Peraletz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located four kilometers northwest of Proseč and belongs to the Okres Chrudim .

geography

Perálec is located on the right side above the valley of the Martinický potok in the Novohradská stupňovina ( Neuschlosser stepland ). Road II / 358 between Skuteč and Litomyšl runs through the village . Macháčkův kopec (509 m nm) rises to the north.

Neighboring towns are Hluboká , Březiny, Střítež and Dolany in the north, Haberka, Mokrá Lhota, Nové Hrady and Polanka in the northeast, Zderaz and Obícka in the east, Pasíčka, Podměstí, Proseč and Záboří in the southeast, Česká Rybná, Miezetiny and Březetiny in the south and Kutřín in the southwest, Dolívka and Předhradí in the west and Hněvětice and Borek in the northwest.

history

The villages of Perálec, Kutřín and Zderaz were probably founded in the middle of the 12th century by the Benedictine monastery Podlažice . The friars Perarc , Sderad and Cutra , named in the oldest layer of the Podlažice necrology and who died after 1160, are considered to be the founders of the place.

Perálec was first mentioned in a document in 1349. In the following year, the church, consecrated in 1321, was elevated to a parish church. After the monastery was destroyed by the Hussites in 1421, the village belonged to the Richenburg . The parish of Perálec died out in 1620; Until 1737 the church of John the Baptist was a branch church of the Skutsch parish and then the Richenburg parish . Before 1799 a school was opened in Perálec.

In 1835, the village of Peraletz , located in the Chrudim district on the border with Neuschloß , consisted of 61 houses in which 352 people lived. Three of the houses were away from the village. The branch church of John the Baptist and the branch school were under stately patronage. The Akatholics belonged to the Prosetsch pastorate . Until the middle of the 19th century, Peraletz always remained subject to the allodial rule of Richenburg.

After the abolition of patrimonial formed Perálec / Peraletz with the district Kutrin a municipality in the judicial district Skutsch . From 1868 the community belonged to the political district Hohenmauth . In 1869 the village Perálec had 384 inhabitants, in 1880 there were 406 and in 1900 385. In 1949 the municipality was assigned to the Okres Polička, since 1961 it has belonged to the Okres Chrudim . In 1970 there were 252 people in Perálec. From 1961 to 1991 Zderaz was incorporated.

The municipality of Perálec consists of the districts Kutřín ( Kutrein ) and Perálec ( Peraletz ).
