Žlebské Chvalovice (German Schleber Chwalowitz , also Žleber Chwalowitz ) is a municipality in the Okres Chrudim in the Czech Republic . It is located 13 kilometers east of Čáslav .

geography

Žlebské Chvalovice is located at the foot of the Krkanka (567 m nm) below the western steep drop of the Iron Mountains ( Železné hory ) above the Čáslavská kotlina ( Czaslauer basin ). The village is located in the protected landscape area CHKO Železné hory. The Čáslav – Třemošnice railway line runs west of Žlebské Chvalovice . In the north rises the Skála (490 m nm), northeast of the Honzíkův vrch (508 m nm). The Lichnice castle ruins are two kilometers south-east .

Neighboring towns are Licoměřice and Březinka in the north, Zbyslavec, Pazderna and Míčov in the northeast, Prachovice in the east, Rudov and Lhůty in the southeast, Závratec in the south, Svatý Kříž in the southwest, Ronov nad Doubravou in the west and Bousov and Žlebská Lhotka in the north.

history

Chvalovice was probably built around 1360, but the land panels from this period were lost in the fire of Prague Castle in 1541 . The first documentary mention was made in 1391 when Jan von Chvalovice sold the estate to the Drobovice Teutonic Order . After King Wenceslaus IV confiscated the commander, various nobles took turns as owners of Chvalovice from 1411 onwards. Since the middle of the 16th century the village was subject to the allodial rule of Žleb . Since the 19th century the village was called Žleber Chwalowitz to distinguish it from Kluker Chwalowitz .

In 1840 the rustic village Chwalowitz or Žleber Chwalowitz consisted of 34 houses in which 230 people lived. There was an official Maierhof and a Dominikales hunter's house in the village. The parish was Ronow .

After the abolition of patrimonial formed Žlebské Chvalovice with the district Žlebská Lhota a municipality in the judicial district Caslau . From 1868 the place belonged to the Časlau district . The volunteer fire brigade was founded in 1909. In 1921 the place name was changed to Žlebské Chvalovice .

In the course of the territorial reform of 1960, the Okres Čáslav was abolished, Žlebské Chvalovice was assigned to the Okres Chrudim. Between 1976 and 1991 Žlebské Chvalovice was incorporated into Ronov nad Doubravou . The municipality has had a coat of arms and a banner since 2016.

The municipality Žlebské Chvalovice consists of the districts Žlebská Lhotka ( Schleber Lhota ) and Žlebské Chvalovice ( Schleber Chwalowitz ).

The municipality forms the cadastral district Žlebské Chvalovice.
