Leštinka (German Leschtinka ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located three kilometers west of Skuteč and belongs to the Okres Chrudim .

geography

Leštinka is located on the right side of the Žejbro brook in the Skutečská pahorkatina ( Skutscher hill country ). State road II / 337 runs on the northern outskirts between Skuteč and Nasavrky , and south of the Havlíčkův Brod – Pardubice railway line . The Kostelecká hůra (432 m nm) rises to the north, the Horky to the southeast and the Zárubka (426 m nm) to the west. The geological composition of the area consists of granite and chalky clay. There are numerous flooded quarries around Leštinka, the Zvěřinov quarry is used as bathing water and the Družstvo quarry is used as a diving school; The only operating quarry is the Zárubka quarry.

Neighboring towns are Skala, Chacholice and Obora in the north, Hroubovice , Pribylov and Skutíčko in the Northeast, Skuteč, Porodnice and Kantýna the east, Pondělíčkův Les and Na Obci the southeast, Dolní Prosetín and Klínek in the south, Cejřov in the southwest, Zárubka and Louka in the West as well as Hlína , V Týně and Vrbatův Kostelec in the north-west.

history

The first documentary mention of the village took place on June 8, 1392 in the country table , when Smil Flaška von Pardubitz handed over the Richenburg with the associated 62 villages to Otto von Bergow and Boček II from Podiebrad . The village is named after Žejbro, who was originally called Leština .

In 1835, the in consisted Chrudim district located rustic village Lesch Tinka or Lesstinka of 31 houses, where 198 people lived. There was a mill in the village. The parish was Skutsch . The main source of income was the work in the quarries. Until the middle of the 19th century Leschtinka remained subject to the Richenburg rule.

After the abolition of patrimonial Leštinka formed from 1849 a district of the municipality Skutíčko in the judicial district of Skuch . From 1868 the village belonged to the political district Hohenmauth . In 1869 Leštinka had 249 inhabitants. In 1871 the Deutschbrod – Pardubitz railway was opened. In the 1870s Leštinka broke away from Skutíčko and formed its own community. In 1880 the Žejbro flood caused severe damage. Before the Second World War, almost 600 people were employed in the quarries. In August 1953 the Žejbro caused another severe flood. In 1900 257 people lived in the village, in 1910 there were 302. In 1930 Leštinka had 299 inhabitants. In 1949 the community was assigned to the newly formed Okres Hlinsko, and since 1961 it has belonged to Okres Chrudim. In the 2001 census, 146 people lived in the 51 houses in Leštinka.
