history

The first mention of the Třemošský court took place in 1564 in the country table as part of an inheritance contract between the brothers Wenzel and Albrecht Robenhaupt von Sucha (Robmhap ze Suché), in which the latter was awarded the court. After the Lichtenburg burned down in 1610 , Albrecht's son, Sigismund Robenhaupt, had a fortress built in Třemošnice and moved his seat from the castle there.

In 1747 the owner of the Ronov manor , Johann Wenzel Caretto de Millesimo, bought the Třemošnice manor and united the two. From 1750 he had the fortress converted into a castle, which became his seat. His son donated the rule to a foundation for impoverished aristocrats, which in 1823 made the castle the seat of their forest administration. East of Třemošnice Jan Josef Zvěřina founded the iron hammer Hedwigsthal in 1816 in the valley of the Zlatý potok.

The place was raised to a municipality in the judicial district of Časlau in 1850 . In 1882 the local railway Čáslav - Závratec started operating. A five-kilometer cable car was built between the Kinsky Counts' limestone quarries in Prachovice and the Závratec lime works, which was the longest in Bohemia at the time. In 1957 the cable car was dismantled. Třemošnice has been a town since June 1, 1994.
