history

The Waldhufendorf was probably founded in the second half of the 13th century at the seat of a minor service nobleman. The first documentary mention of the village took place in the country table in 1392 , when Smil Flaška von Pardubitz handed over the Richenburg with the associated 62 villages to Otto von Bergow and Boček II from Podiebrad . The village is named after a person named Vojtěch. In 1582 there were 28 farms in Vojtěchov. At the beginning of the 19th century, the Protestant cemetery and the pond in the upper village were created.

In 1835, the in consisted Chrudim district located rustic village Woytiechow of 99 houses, where 467 people lived. There were three mills in the village. The parish office was Ranna . Until the middle of the 19th century, Woytiechow remained subject to the Richenburg rule.

After the abolition of patrimonial Vojtěchov formed from 1849 with the district Pláňavy a municipality in the judicial district of Hlinsko . From 1868 the village belonged to the political district of Chrudim . In 1869 Vojtěchov had 540 inhabitants. In January 1870, the ÖNWB built the Deutschbrod – Pardubitz railway line , which cut through the center of the village. On May 16, 1871, the train service began - but without stopping in Vojtěchov. The volunteer fire brigade was founded in 1884. In the years 1896–1898 the road to Kladno was built. In 1900 there were 521 people living in the village, in 1910 there were 517. The road to Pokřikov was built in 1922. In 1930 Vojtěchov had 590 inhabitants; in the summer of this year Vojtěchov was connected to the electricity network. In 1944 the Vojtěchov stop was built north of the village; on June 4, 1944 the first train stopped in Vojtěchov. In 1949 the community was assigned to the newly formed Okres Hlinsko, and since 1961 it has belonged again to Okres Chrudim. In the 2001 census, 396 people lived in Vojtěchov's 132 houses.
