Zhoř (German Shorsch ) is a district of the city of Skuteč in the Czech Republic . It is located five kilometers northeast of Skuteč and belongs to the Okres Chrudim .

geography

Zhoř is located on the right side above the valley of the Krounka in the Novohradská stupňovina ( Neuschlosser stepland ). To the east rises the Zajany (455 m nm), in the southeast the Jedlina (465 m nm) and to the west the Heráně (453 m nm).

Neighboring towns are Doly and Rabouň in the north, Brdo , Hlubočice and Chlum in the Northeast, Střítež the east, Hluboká in the Southeast, Borek and Předhradí in the south, Oborský Mlyn, Lažany and Skuteč in the southwest, Zbožnov the west and Zadní Borek, Pod Lhotou and Lhota u Skutče in the northwest.

history

The first documentary mention of the village took place in the country table in 1392 , when Smil Flaška von Pardubitz handed over the Richenburg with the associated 62 villages to Otto von Bergow and Boček II from Podiebrad .

In 1835, the rustic village of Zhoř in the Chrudim district consisted of 29 scattered houses in which 197 people lived. The parish was in Richenburg . Until the middle of the 19th century, Zhoř remained subject to the Richenburg rule.

After the abolition of patrimonial Zhoř formed from 1849 a district of the municipality Hněvětice in the judicial district of Skuch . From 1868 the village belonged to the political district Hohenmauth . In 1869 Zhoř had 198 inhabitants and consisted of 30 houses. 189 people lived in Zhoř in 1900, compared to 214 in 1910. In 1930 the village had 172 inhabitants. 1949 Zhoř was assigned to the newly formed Okres Hlinsko, since 1961 the village has belonged to Okres Chrudim. On July 1, 1985, Zhoř was incorporated into Skuteč together with Hněvětice. In the 2001 census, 54 people lived in the 36 houses of Zhoř.
