Life
Donato Felice d'Allio began an apprenticeship as a bricklayer in his homeland around 1690 . Around 1698 he came to Vienna as a journeyman , where he later worked as a foreman and then as a master mason . From 1711 to 1747 he was employed at the Military Building Office, where he prepared reports and expert opinions, for example on the military admissibility of civil structures.
Due to his structural engineering knowledge, he was called to numerous private construction sites at the same time. Among other things, he worked on behalf of the Archbishop of Esztergom , Count Imre Esterházy .
