Lanzo d'Intelvi is a fraction of the municipality ( comune ) Alta Valle Intelvi and until 2016 was an independent municipality in the province of Como in Lombardy .

geography

The place is on the border with Switzerland between Lake Lugano and Lake Como , at an altitude of 900 to 1000 meters and around 35 km from Como.

history

On January 1, 2017, Lanzo d'Intelvi merged with the communities Pellio Intelvi and Ramponio Verna to form the new community Alta Valle Intelvi. The Scaria fraction belonged to the municipality of Lanzo d'Intelvi. Neighboring communities were Arogno and Lugano ( Canton Ticino , Switzerland) and Pellio Intelvi, Ramponio Verna and Valsolda (IT).
