Water code number (Czech Republic)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Čislo hydrologického pořadí , abbreviated to ČHP , roughly translated as " hydrological order number ", is the Czech name for the identification numbers of watercourses and their sections in the hydrographic survey of the waterway network.

definition

The system was published in 2002 by the Ministry of Agriculture in Law Gazette 292.

Structure of the river code

The hydrological number ČHP in the Czech Republic has a uniform structure of the form A-BB-CC-DDD. Like the water body index in Germany, it is structured hierarchically, which means that the water network can be reconstructed from the water body index with restrictions. It is composed of partial key figures for the (partial) catchment areas ( oblasti ), whereby the clear correspondence to a river system is achieved. In contrast to the German system, more than ten bodies of water are possible on each except the top tier. This may require two- or multi-digit number blocks, separated from each other by hyphens.

  • A : The first digit of the code denotes the river area. Only in the Czech Republic are eligible
  • BB : The following two passages show the sub-catchment areas of the stream or rivers of the second order.
  • CC : The next two digits give the most important catchment areas or rivers of the III. Okay again.
  • DDD : The last three digits denote the catchment areas of the fourth order.

The hierarchical structure was already designed in Czechoslovakia . The waterway indicators of Slovakia therefore have the same structure , in which the first digits are 3 ( Vistula ) and 4 (Danube).

example

The Flöha rises as Flájsky potok in the Bohemian Ore Mountains , flows north into the Freiberg Mulde , which in turn merges with the Zwickauer Mulde to form the Mulde and then flows into the Elbe.

Flájsky potok has the water code number 1-15-03-023, which is composed as follows:

  • 1 - The first digit stands for the main river, the Elbe.
  • 1-15 - The second number block together denotes all flowing waters north of the ridge line of the Ore Mountains.
  • 1-15-03 - With the third, the selection also includes the direct and indirect tributaries to the Freiberger Mulde, i.e. all tributaries of the Freiberger Mulde, the Zschopau and the Flöha itself.
  • The fourth number block 023 then clearly designates the Flöha.
