Mykola Iwanowytsch Kosizyn ( Ukrainian Микола Іванович Козіцин , Russian Николай Иванович Козицын ; born June 20, 1956 in Torezk ) is a Ukrainian businessman and rebel commander.

He comes from the Donetsk Oblast in Ukraine and belongs to the ethnic and cultural leadership structure of the Don Cossacks . Kositsyn is the leader of the "Cossack National Guard", one of the separatist groups during the crisis in Ukraine in 2014 and to which around 3,000 people belong. Kositsyn is suspected to be the mastermind behind the kidnapping of two groups of OSCE observers in 2014. The voice of Kositsyn is said to be heard on a sound recording released by the Ukrainian secret service , which is supposed to reproduce telephone conversations between people involved in the crash of Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 .
