Karin Wagner (musicologist)

Karin Wagner (* 1969 in Klagenfurt ) is an Austrian musicologist , pianist and non-fiction author .

Live and act

Karin Wagner studied piano at the Bruckner Conservatory in Linz and at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna . She did her dissertation in musicology at the Institute for Analysis, Theory and History of Music at the University of Music Vienna with a second subject in contemporary history at the University of Vienna . Karin Wagner worked for many years as a music teacher at the Upper Austrian Regional Music School. Since 2001 she has been teaching piano and piano didactic subjects at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. As a lecturer, she works as part of teacher training in cooperation with various institutions. Wagner also gives concerts as a chamber musician at home and abroad. Karin Wagner published the first German-language biography of the exiled composer Eric Zeisl and is a speaker at international scientific conferences and symposia.

Karin Wagner also writes articles on current political events in Austria.
