Teacher training
In-service training for teachers describes organized training measures for teachers who are already practicing in school. It is an instrument for personnel development in schools . It borders from the teacher training the first ( teacher training ) and the second phase ( clerkship ) as the third phase of teacher training from. Under teacher training (often) understood as additional training, which leads through examinations and certificates to new teaching qualifications.
Germany
Since the initial and further training of teachers is a matter for the federal states, there is no uniform regulation in Germany. In addition to the state teacher training institutes and the school inspectorate , other public and private providers have their own offers. Due to the heterogeneous structure, a transnational organization "German Association for the Promotion of Teacher Training (DVLfB)" was formed in Germany 30 years ago , which discusses and coordinates the central topics and innovation areas of teacher training and school development at regular specialist conferences. It has become established nationwide to view young teachers starting their careers in the first three to four years as a separate (3rd) teacher training phase. In many federal states there are independent qualification and support offers (from collegial advice and exchange groups to coaching and supervision offers to specific advanced training offers). A nationwide coordination group has been formed for this entry-level phase, which accompanies the design of this phase with specialist conferences.
Switzerland
In Switzerland , due to the cantonal structure, there is also no uniform teacher training structure, but there is a clear teaching profession that was formulated by the Swiss Teachers' Association (LCH). Austria
In-service training for teachers in Austria is largely organized through teacher training colleges in the various federal states. Different didactic courses are offered for each subject, which are aimed at special situations in and around the classroom.
