Academy for teacher training and personnel management

The Academy for Teacher Training and Personnel Management ( ALP for short ) was established in 1971 in the buildings of the Philosophical-Theological College of the Augsburg Bishops in Dillingen . It is the central training facility for teachers , multipliers , functionaries , school principals and employees of the school supervisory and school administration in Bavaria . The academy is directly subordinate to the Bavarian State Ministry for Education and Culture .

Training offer

The Academy's advanced training courses are mainly aimed at multipliers from all types of schools and subjects (except for sport and religion) who are supposed to pass on the content as part of regional, local or in-school advanced training. In addition, the academy has the task of training functionaries and educational managers . Further tasks are advice and training in information technology and media education , as well as the support of the Bavarian school server.

In 1549 the Collegium St. Hieronymi , also called "Collegium Litterarum", was founded by Cardinal Otto Truchsess von Waldburg and in 1551 promoted to university . In 1563 it was taken over by the Jesuit order and developed into a center of the Counter Reformation . The Jesuit order was repealed in 1773 ( Jesuit ban ). In the course of secularization , the university was converted into a lyceum with academic rank in 1803 , from which the Philosophical-Theological College of the Augsburg Bishops emerged in 1923 . This was integrated into the University of Augsburg in 1970 . The "Academy for Teacher Training" was founded in 1971 and renamed in 1996 to "Academy for Teacher Training and Personnel Management".

In 2015, the Bavarian Supreme Audit Office criticized the academy's organization and human resources as inadequate.
