State Office for Schools and Education
The Saxon State Office for Schools and Education in Saxony (LaSuB) is a school supervisory authority under the Saxon Ministry of Culture . The locations are in Bautzen , Chemnitz , Dresden , Leipzig , Radebeul and Zwickau . It emerged in 2018 from the Saxon Education Agency (SBA) and the Saxon Education Institute (SBI). Ralf Berger is in charge.
The main focuses of the work are
- Advice and support for schools in performing their tasks independently
- Ensuring and improving the quality of school work together with schools, including the provision of teacher training and further education and executive training
Further tasks:
- control over compliance with applicable laws, ordinances and regulations
- dealing with the affairs of the teaching staff
- the technical supervision of education and training in schools
- the supervision of the school management and teaching staff, including the pedagogical staff and the supervisory staff
- the supervision of the fulfillment of the tasks incumbent on the school authority
The Bautzen site is also responsible for coordinating the affairs of the bilingual Sorbian- German schools.
