State Pedagogical Institute Rhineland-Palatinate
The Pedagogical State Institute Rhineland-Palatinate (PL) is a service facility of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate for advice and further training and is aimed at schools and teachers in Rhineland-Palatinate as well as all those involved in school , which also includes educational specialists, parents, pupils, etc. .
history
The institute was founded on August 1, 2010 from three educational service facilities: the Pedagogical Center (PZ) (formerly located in Bad Kreuznach), the Institute for Further Education and School Psychological Advice (IFB) (formerly based in Speyer) and the State Media Center (LMZ) ( former seat of Koblenz). The IFB, in turn, was created through the merger of the State Institute for Teacher Training (SIL) Rhineland-Palatinate with the school psychological counseling facilities of Rhineland-Palatinate.

The State Pedagogical Institute offers specialist and interdisciplinary advanced and further training, support, accompaniment and advice on school and teaching development and media education, provision of media and materials for teaching, school psychological advice and school IT services.
organization
The PL is a subordinate authority to the Rhineland-Palatinate Ministry of Education.
The institute management and central administration is located at the headquarters in Speyer , Butenschönstrasse 2. The main locations are also in Bad Kreuznach and Koblenz . At all three main locations there are also school psychological counseling centers of the State Pedagogical Institute.
Other locations that (also) house psychological counseling centers are in Gerolstein , Hachenburg , Idar-Oberstein , Kaiserslautern , Kirchheimbolanden , Ludwigshafen am Rhein , Mainz , Mayen , Pirmasens , Trier and Wittlich .
Regional locations of the PL are also in Altenkirchen and Daun .
iMedia
Together with the Ministry of Education, the State Pedagogical Institute has been organizing the iMedia advanced training fair for teaching and learning with media in Mainz since 2005 , in which around 60 exhibitors and around 1000 teachers from Rhineland-Palatinate and neighboring federal states take part.
