State Institute for Schools (Bremen)
The State Institute for Schools (LIS), also State Institute for Schools of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen or State Institute for Schools Bremen (LIS Bremen), is an institution of the State of Free Hanseatic City of Bremen and belongs to the department of the Bremen Senator for Children and Education . The LIS is part of the Bremen school system and supports the schools in the state of Bremen in their development. It acts as a competence center and provides professional, educational and psychological services for everyone involved in schools and education in the city-state of Bremen.

The core tasks of the State Institute for Schools include:

The main building, which is located on Am Weidedamm 20 in the Findorff district of Bremen, houses the management of the LIS, central administration, the school development / personnel development, quality assurance and training departments, the library and seminar rooms.
The Health and Addiction Prevention Unit of the School Development / Personnel Development Department and the Center for Media with the Makemedia Studios, the Photo Archive and the State Film Archive are located at the Große Weidestrasse location in Bremen-Mitte .
In Bremen-Nord there is the ReBUZ-Nord at the Weserstraße location .
The main seminar 34 (Bremerhaven) of the training department is based in the “ Bremerhaven branch ”, which has the Deichstrasse location in Bremerhaven- Mitte .
