The Simon publisher of library knowledge was in 2008 in Berlin founded.

The publisher also publishes two series:
- Contemporary witnesses of the 20th century : Letters and memoirs are published in a context of historical sources and reports.
- Hearing and learning : New sounds should rediscover hearing. The series aims to bring contemporary works, including non-European music in books, on CDs in sheet music and as downloads from the Internet.
Events
The publisher also organizes concerts and readings, also in collaboration with libraries, e.g. B. The concert series Nachgefragt , as well as discussion concerts with young composers of modern music.
