Chotěnice (German Chotienitz ) is a district of the city of Heřmanův Městec in the Czech Republic . It is located three kilometers southeast of the city center of Heřmanův Městec and belongs to the Okres Chrudim .
geography
Chotěnice is located on the left side above the valley of the Bylanka in the northern foothills of the Iron Mountains ( Železné hory ). State road II / 341 runs on the western edge of the village between Heřmanův Městec and Seč , to the north the state road I / 17 between Heřmanův Městec and Chrudim . The Heřmanův Městec Nature Park extends to the west; to the south rises the Holičská jedlina (388 m nm), in the southwest of the Palác (382 m nm).
Neighboring towns are Novy Dvur, Doubrava and Rozhovice in the north, Bylany and Lány in the Northeast, Morašice the east, Březina, Dubina, Skupice and Palučiny the southeast, Holičky, Bačalský Mlyn, Dlubín and Radlin in the south, Na Kvartýře, Na Průhoně and Kostelec u Heřmanova Městce in the southwest, Chotěnická Dubina in the west and Přibilov and Heřmanův Městec in the northwest.
history
Chotěnice was first mentioned in documents in 1485 as the property of the Kuban family. In Chotěnice there was a manor house with very extensive grounds. With the establishment of the Wilhelmshof (later called Neuhof ) by Wilhelm d. J. von Oppersdorff in 1588 Chotěnice was attached to the Heřmanův Městec rule. At that time the village consisted of a few, but very large, farm estates. In the 17th century, Chotěnice was the seat of a judge . To the west of the old village of Chotěnice, the settlement Chotěnická Dubina was established in the 18th century and later merged with Chotěnice.
In 1833 the in consisted Chrudim District village located Chotienitz or Chotěnic of 134 houses where 1,011 people lived. To Chotienitz konskribiert the stately Meierhof were Neuhof or Nowy Dwur with a sheep farm, orchard and a large brick factory, and the stately pheasant garden with a hunting lodge. The parish was Heřmanmiestetz . Until the middle of the 19th century, Chotienitz remained subject to the allodial rule of Heřmanmiestetz.
After the abolition of patrimonial Chotěnice formed from 1849 with the district Radlín a municipality in the judicial district of Chrudim . From 1868 the municipality belonged to the political district of Chrudim . In 1900 there were 441 people in Chotěnice, in 1910 there were 375. In 1961 the number of inhabitants had dropped to 295. In 1964 it was incorporated into Heřmanův Městec.

The district Chotěnice consists of the basic settlement units Chotěnice and Nový Dvůr ( Neuhof ). Chotěnice also includes the locality of Chotěnická Dubina.
The Chotěnice cadastral area includes the basic settlement units Chotěnice and Radlín . Nový Dvůr is part of the cadastral district of Heřmanův Městec.
