The open-air museum Vysočina (Czech Skanzen lidových staveb Vysočina ) is located in the village of Veselý Kopec near Hlinsko in the Czech Republic .
The museum presents mainly wooden farmsteads of small farmers from a part of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands and technical buildings with water propulsion. The objects date from the middle of the 19th century to the 1950s and document the special structure of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands and the Železné hory as well as the way of life of the individual families and their social position. Veselý Kopec, with its folk building complex, is one of the most important and valuable exhibitions of folk building in the Czech Republic.
A second part of the museum is the listed historic old town of Hlinsko on the right bank of the Chrudimka River, called Betlém, with numerous examples of folk architecture . It was a typical district of the small craftsmen, was severely neglected from the 1960s, which led to the destruction of many houses. The rescue of the central part began in the late 1990s by the National Monuments Office and the Vysočina Open-Air Museum.
