history

Chlum and Korouhvice originated in the 13th century and were first mentioned in 1394. Chlum originally belonged to the estates of the Doubravník Monastery , and the place was also the seat of a petty nobleman. Korouhvice was part of Štěpán's dowry from Pernstein's wife Klara. In 1394, Klara von Tasov wrote over her income from both villages to her children. Subsequently, both places belonged to the Lords of Pernstein. In the second half of the 16th century, Chlum and Korouhvice were attached to the Kunstadter estates. There has been evidence of a judge in Chlum since 1596.

After the abolition of patrimonial Chlum and Korovice formed districts of the Polom municipality in the Boskovice district . In 1897 both places came together with Polom to the Neustadtl district . In 1912, Chlum and Korovice broke away from Polom and formed a new municipality, which since June 1, 1914 has been called Chlum-Korouhvice. At that time Chlum consisted of 17 houses and had 112 inhabitants. 160 people lived in the 23 houses of Korouhvice.

Chlum-Korouhvice was assigned to the Okres Bystřice nad Pernštejnem in 1946. In 1947 construction began on the Svratka dam Vír I with a storage space of 56 million m³ and an area of 223.5 ha. Korouhvice was also located within the planned reservoir. Most of the residents were resettled in Litobratřice . Five families stayed in the village and built new houses in the protected area above the future reservoir. The old Korouhvice, including the mill, was demolished and sank in the Vír dam in 1958. In 1961 the community was assigned to the Okres Žďár nad Sázavou .
