history

The first written mention of the Přibík hammer took place in 1406. The hammer was verifiably in operation since 1404 and was probably created at the end of the 14th century. In 1426 the hammer, the fortress, the farm and the village of Sázava belonged to the Sázavec von Sázava family. In 1481 Jan and Petr Sázavec sold the hammer with all accessories to the hammer owner Petr. In 1554 the hammer master Gregor had his brother Jakub and Gregor's son Hanzl the heavily indebted hammer. After that it belonged to various hammer lords in the area, in particular the Toman von Figlhammer, and was eventually divided between three owners. In 1562, Katharina von Waldstein on Telč bought the hammer with all its accessories and gave it to the united Polish lordship - Přibyslav . Subsequently, the lordship leased the hammer known as Peklo , the last information about its operation dates back to 1714. After its closure, it was converted into the Pekelský mlýn mill. The former Hammerhof was called Pekelský dvůr . After the tolerance patent of 1781, a Protestant community was formed, which was initially parish to Krucemburk . In 1785 a Protestant prayer house was built. In 1848 the Protestant parish Sázava was set up, to which the Horní Krupá branch was attached.

After the abolition of patrimonial Sazau formed from 1850 a municipality in the political district of Polna , which consisted of the districts Unter Sazau and Ober Sazau. From 1878 the village belonged to the Chotěboř District . In 1898 the local railway Deutschbrod – Saar started operating. In the 20th century the settlements Dolní Sázava and Horní Sázava grew together to form a single unit. In the 1930s, a wooden tower was built on the Rosička hill for air traffic control. In 1949 Sázava was assigned to the Okres Žďár nad Sázavou . The old railway line, which ran along the southern edge of the village, was closed in 1953 and instead a new double-track line was put into operation on the opposite bank of the river. In 1961 it was incorporated into Rosička and together with it in 1980 to Velká Losenice . At the beginning of 1991 the municipality of Sázava was established. It has had a coat of arms since 1998.

Community structure

The municipality Sázava consists of the districts Česká Mez ( Czehomes , 1939–45 Bohemian Rain ) and Sázava ( Sasau ) and the settlement Kopaniny ( Kopanina ) and the single layer Huťský Dvůr ( Hutterhof ). Basic settlement units are Česká Mez, Kopaniny and Sázava.
