The largest of these are the Veselský rybník in the northeast and the Rendlíček in the southeast. The forest area Veselský les extends to the south.

Neighboring towns are Matějov in the north, Budeč and Nové Veselí in the northeast, Březí nad Oslavou in the east, Kotlasy and Pokojov in the southeast, Bohdalov in the south, Rudolec and Samotín in the southwest, Sirákov in the west and Nížkov in the northwest.

history

The village is one of the numerous places called Újezd , the corridors of which were determined by horse riding in the Middle Ages . The village was founded during the colonization of the Moravian border forest by the heirs of Přibyslav von Křižanov . Oujezd was first mentioned in writing in 1447 when Georg von Krawarn on Strážnice sold the Veselí estate to Jan von Lomnice. Because of the alder growth around the Prostřední rybník pond in the center of the village, the village was also called Olšový Oujezd . The lords of Dubá and Lipá belonged to the other owners . In the 17th century, Oujezd became the seat of a judge. The oldest local seal dates from 1667. Oujezd remained attached to the Nové Veselí estate until 1848.

After the abolition of patrimonial Oujezd / Aujezd formed a community in the political district of Neustadtl from 1850 . In 1883 a village school was established. In 1887 they moved into their own schoolhouse, which was built according to plans by the builder Aleš Linsbauer from Hodíškov . In the same year, a brick factory started operations near Oujezd. The volunteer fire brigade was founded in 1897. In 1903 the road to Nové Veselí was built. At the beginning of the 20th century, Em. Stern's brick production ended in Oujezd. In 1921 the official place name Újezd was introduced. Since 1949 the community has belonged to the Okres Žďár nad Sázavou .
