history

The village was created during the colonization of the border forests between Moravia and Bohemia. It belonged to the estates of Štěpán from Pernstein's widow Klara and was first mentioned in a document when she had more children transferred to their son and her second husband Vznata von Tasov and Vznatas in 1349. A little later Věstín came back to the Pernstein dominion . In 1590 Věstín, along with eleven other villages in the area , was incorporated into the Kunstadt rule , to which it belonged until 1848.

After the abolition of patrimonial Věstín formed with the district Malý Věstín (Věstínek) from 1850 a municipality in the Boskovice district .

At the end of the Second World War, partisans were operating in the surrounding forests. In December 1944 they shot the German resident Karel Haberhauer and in March 1945 his widow as well. In 1949 the community came to Okres Bystřice nad Pernštejnem. 1961 Bolešín was incorporated and the municipality Věstín assigned to the Okres Žďár nad Sázavou . In 1973 Věstín was attached to Rovečné . The community has existed again since 1990.

The Věstín area is a place where grenades , muscovites and titanites were found .
