history
The first written mention of Kotlasy took place in 1349. In 1353, Adam von Konice handed over the village together with the desert settlement of Bukaw Kotlasy to the Saar Cistercian monastery according to the last will of Jan von Tasov . 1437 accused the Hecht von Rossitz Wenzel and Georg von Krawarn on Meziříčí of seizing several villages belonging to the monastery, including Kotlasy. The dispute over ownership lasted until the end of the 15th century, after which Kotlasy was returned to the monastery.
After the abolition of patrimonial Kotlasy formed a community in the political district of Neustadtl from 1850 . Since 1949 the community has belonged to the Okres Žďár nad Sázavou . In 2000 there were 136 people in Kotlasy.
