Dalečín Castle, seat of the municipal administration

Dalečín (German Daletschin , 1939–45 Tollstein ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located eight kilometers north of Bystřice nad Pernštejnem and belongs to the Okres Žďár nad Sázavou .

geography

Dalečín is located at the southeastern foot of the Saar Mountains in the Svratka valley . The village lies below the confluence of the Hrabovec brook on a meander crowned by the remains of the Dalečín castle . To the northeast rise the Šípův vrch (700 m), Spálenec (587 m) and the Uroubšovka (628 m), in the southeast the Holotín (549 m), south the Hora (636 m), in the east the Panský Kopec (672 m) and northeast of the Na Vrškách (638 m). The Vír I dam extends to the southeast .

Neighboring towns are Strachujov , Zbytov and Unčín in the north, Ubušín and Ubušínek in the northeast, Veselí in the east, Vírovka in the southeast, Vítochov and Písečné in the south, Velké Janovice in the southwest and Míchov in the northwest.

history

A village Daletice was first mentioned in the founding document of the Opatowitz Monastery , dated 1073 , which is now considered to be a forgery from around 1163. It is also doubted that the Daletice monastic estate was Dalečín.

The existence of the village Daleczin has been assured since 1349, when Štěpán von Pernstein's widow Klara, together with Písečné and Dětochov (Vítochov), gave the village to their second husband Znata von Tasov. Klara also survived this and in 1358 sold her Dalecziner goods to Jimram von Pernstein. The castle was also mentioned for the first time. Daleczin probably originated as a settlement of miners. Several iron hammers have been working on Svratka since the Middle Ages. The existence of a fortress Daleczyn has also been documented since 1390 . In 1519 the castle, which had repeatedly become a hideout for robbers, was captured and destroyed.

In 1588 Johann von Pernstein sold the dominions Dalečín and Jimramov to the Vladiken Paul Katharyn von Katharn. He made Dalečín his seat and had the fortress redesigned into a renaissance castle. 1590 signed Katharyn Dalečín to his wife Griseldis Čejka von Olbramovice. After the couple had the Jimramov Castle built in 1593, it became their new seat. In 1603, the underage sons Peter and Johann Katharyn von Katharn sold the goods to Wilhelm Dubský of Třebomyslice, who immediately passed them on to Jan Dubský of Třebomyslice. Instead of the iron hammer, a paper mill was built at the end of the 16th century, which was later converted into a sawmill. Jan Dubský gave the church in Dalečín an evangelical statute in 1608. After the Battle of White Mountain in 1621, Dubský's goods, who had fought alongside the rebels, were confiscated and sold to Stephan Schmidt von Freyhofen. He joined Dalečín to the rule Kunštát , where the place then remained until 1848. Josef Freiherr Coudenhove-Honrichs had a covered wooden bridge built over the Svratka in 1846.

After the abolition of patrimonial Dalečín formed with the district Chudobín and the settlement Hamry from 1850 a municipality in the district Neustadtl . In 1850 the Counts Coudenhove-Honrichs had the castle redesigned into a hunting lodge in the style of an alpine hut. In 1866 a spinning mill was built on Svratka. From 1919 Chudobín formed its own community with Hamry. In 1931, the Prague professor Josef Heger had the three-hut settlement Vírovka built on the left bank, which served as a college for his theological faculty students. Because of the construction of the Vír I dam, Chudobín and Hamry were dissolved from 1947 and flooded in 1958.

In 1949 Dalečín came to Okres Bystřice nad Pernštejnem. In 1950 the army built a new iron bridge next to the old wooden bridge, which had become a traffic obstacle. In 1961 Veselí was incorporated, at the same time the community was assigned to the Okres Žďár nad Sázavou . Hluboké, which had been attached to Vír since 1961 , was reassigned to Dalečín in 1964. The old wooden bridge was dismantled in 1968 and replaced by a concrete bridge. After the area around the Vír I dam was classified as water protection zone I in 1992, the Vírovka holiday resort had to be closed in 1993. The preserved huts serve as the operational building of the Povodí Moravy dam company. At the end of 2003, Dalečín had 705 inhabitants. 562 of them lived in Dalečín, 102 in Veselí and 41 in Hluboké. Today Dalečín is also a winter sports center; there are ski lifts to the west of the village.
