history
The first written mention of the village of Hruda , which belonged to the Tasov rule , was in 1353 as the property of the Vznata von Tasov. Iron ore was mined in the vicinity of the village. The Lords of Pernstein acquired Ruda and added it to the Meziříčí rule . Later Ruda belonged to different people. Sigmund Held von Kement bought Ruda back to Meziříčí in 1552, where it remained until 1848. In 1601 the village lay desolate, it was settled again a short time later. The shepherd Matěj and his wife Estera were executed in 1626 after a witch trial. During the Thirty Years War, Swedish troops set up camp near Ruda for six days in 1642. They burned down the village of Křeptov. Rudolf von Kaunitz had a manorial court built on the place of Křeptov . In 1795 a new church was built, the old church was demolished and a school was built in its place.
After the abolition of patrimonial Ruda formed from 1850 a municipality in the district administration Velké Meziříčí. In 1873 the production of twisted buttons began in Ruda. At the end of the 19th century there was a tannery in the village. A distillery belonged to Křeptovský Dvůr, which was owned by the Harrach counts at that time . The volunteer fire brigade was founded in 1895. In 1921 the village had 464 inhabitants. At the beginning of 1945, the headquarters of the staff of the R3 resistance group was in Ruda. At the beginning of 1961 Lhotka , which had previously belonged to Tasov, was incorporated and the community assigned to the Okres Žďár nad Sázavou . Between 1980 and 1991 Ruda was a district of Velké Meziříčí. The community has existed again since 1992.
