Ludwig Knortz (born October 5, 1879 in Alzbach; † November 3, 1936 ) was a German architect .

Live and act

Knortz attended the technical center in Hildburghausen in 1899/1900 and then worked in various private construction offices. In 1908 he started his own business in Heilbronn , where he built business and private houses. In 1929 he campaigned against the threatened demolition of the Heilbronn shooting house , and in 1931 he designed the arcade house in Heilbronn.

From 1911 at the latest, Knortz was a member of the Association of German Architects . From 1912 to 1936 he was chairman of the house and landowners association in Heilbronn and the surrounding area and long-term chairman of the state. From 1922 to 1934 he worked as a member of the construction department at the Heilbronn appraisal commission. From 1922 to 1935 he was a member of the Heilbronn municipal council, initially for the DDP / DStP , then without party affiliation.

Knortz was married to Else Hentges. The marriage produced a daughter and a son.
