history
Joachimshof was founded on February 25, 1798 by the new owner of the Budischau estate , Joachim Ritter von Stettenhofen , and named after him. The village is one of several colonies that were newly established on manorial corridors at the end of the 18th century, with which the inhabitants of the overpopulated old villages should be offered a sufficient livelihood. Stettenhofen found a suitable location on a drained manorial pond in the Jíví forest behind Holubí Zhoř, close to the border of his rule. The Joachimshof colony was laid out as a street village; In the southern row, Stettenhofen had 15 equally large cottages marked out, each with a little over two acres of field, in the northern row nine families were settled, who also received over two acres of field as well as meadow and pasture land. Most of the 24 settlers came from the surrounding villages of Budischau, Ossowa , Gurein and the county of Namiescht . In 1802 the construction of the houses was essentially complete. Stettenhofen found no buyers for two other building sites until 1804 and then decided to build a distillery and an inn there. Finally, the settler Jakub Robotka bought both building sites for his twelve year old son; he promised to build the tavern himself and promised to serve Budischauer beer and brandy. The proximity to Kaiserstrasse with the passage of various troops caused problems for the new village with the outbreak of the Napoleonic Wars . However, the settlers knew how to protect themselves, on February 22nd, 1806, the ranger Jan Košábek from the nearby Veselka Hegerhaus reported to the landlord in great concern for the village that the residents of Joachimshof had killed a Frenchman and had not even buried his body.
In 1842 the village Joachimshof and Joachimow , located in the Iglauer Kreis near the Iglau - Brünner Poststrasse, consisted of 24 houses in which 118 people lived. The parish was Bitischka . Until the middle of the 19th century Joachimshof remained subject to the allodial rule of Budischau.
After the abolition of patrimonial formed Jáchymov / Joachimow 1849 a district of the municipality Holubí Zhoř in the judicial district of the United Bittesch . From 1869 Jáchymov belonged to the Great Meserich district . At that time the village had 138 inhabitants and consisted of 24 houses. In 1900 there were 137 people in Jáchymov; In 1910 there were 123. In the 1921 census, 120 Czechs lived in the village's 24 houses. In 1930 Jáchymov consisted of 25 houses and 115 inhabitants. Between 1939 and 1945 Jáchymov / Joachimshof belonged to the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia . In 1948 the village was assigned to the Okres Velká Bíteš. In 1950 Jáchymov had 105 inhabitants. In the course of the territorial reform and the repeal of the Okres Velká Bíteš, Jáchymov was assigned to the Okres Žďár nad Sázavou on July 1, 1960 . On July 1, 1980 it was incorporated into Velká Bíteš. In the 2001 census, there were 87 people in the 32 houses in Jáchymov. At the beginning of 2012 the village had 93 inhabitants, four of the 37 houses were used as holiday homes.
