Church of St. Bartholomew

Radostín nad Oslavou , until 1960 Radostín (German Radostin ) is a minority in the Czech Republic. It is located twelve kilometers northwest of Velké Meziříčí and belongs to the Okres Žďár nad Sázavou .

Radostín nad Oslavou is located in the Křižanovská vrchovina ( Krischanauer Uplands) belonging to the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands at the confluence of the Znětínský creek into the Oslava . State road II / 354 between Ostrov nad Oslavou and Velké Meziříčí runs through the village . To the northwest, the Šibeniční vrch (560 m nm) and the Holý vrch (567 m nm) rise.

Neighboring towns are Sazomín and Ostrov nad Oslavou in the north, Hodíškov and Suky in the Northeast, Laštovičky and Rousměrov the east, Kněževes and Krásněves the southeast, Vrbův Mlyn, minced lard and Záhradište in the south, Pavlov in the southwest, Stary Telečkov and Znětínek the west and Pokojov and Kotlasy in the northwest.

history

Before 1350 Radostín belonged to the Lords of Tasov . Jan von Tasov left part of his property to his sister Anna von Konice in 1350. Radostín was first mentioned as a town in 1365. Anna von Konice sold Radostín in 1366 to Jan von Meziříčí and Václav von Myslibořice. The lords of Meziříčí bought his share from Zikmund von Myslibořice in 1390. Subsequently, the Radostín estate was always associated with the Great Meseritsch rule until the middle of the 19th century . In 1748 the town hall burned down and the old town books were lost.

After the abolition of patrimonial Radostín formed from 1850 with the districts Kněževes, Krásněves and Zahradiště a municipality in the judicial district of Great Meseritsch. In 1857 the parish archive was also destroyed in the fire of the rectory. From 1862 the community belonged to the newly formed political district Groß Meseritsch. Kněževes and Krásněves broke away from Radostín at the end of the 19th century and formed their own communities. In 1913, a silver box with a treasure trove of coins was unearthed under a mighty tree stump at the former brickworks during logging work in the stately forests; Since the youngest of the coins date from 1620, it is believed that the treasure was buried by the owner of the Ostrov Fortress, Tomáš Soběhrd von Kozlov, whose property was confiscated after the Battle of White Mountain because of his participation in the uprising .

After the Okres Velké Meziříčí was abolished, the municipality of Radostín was assigned to the Okres Žďár nad Sázavou in 1961; at the same time, the place was given the addition of nad Oslavou to distinguish it from the other municipality of Radostín . Between 1981 and 1990 Krásněves was incorporated again.

On June 16, 2020, Radostín nad Oslavou was promoted to Městys .

The minority Radostín nad Oslavou consists of the districts Radostín nad Oslavou ( Radostin ) and Zahradiště ( Sachradish ), which also form cadastral districts.
