history

The first written mention of a Swietiner Hof (Světinův dvůr) near the Libitzer Steig took place in 1366. Over the years, the settlement of Světinov developed around the farm, which was first found in 1462 in the land register of the Cistercian monastery in Saar . At that time Světinov consisted of 20 smaller properties and had about 140 inhabitants, including a judge and a miller. In 1466, Georg von Podebrady confirmed the monastery ownership rights over Světinov and other villages. In the third Saar land register from 1483, 161 residents are recorded for the village. In the years 1710 to 1715 a complaint was pending against the judge from Světnov, in which he was accused of disobedience to Fron and his replacement was requested. In 1782, residents of Světnov again, under the leadership of Josef Beran, opposed the obligation of submission to the monastery and filed a complaint at the Viennese court. This was done in 1784 with the abolition of the monastery. After that the village belonged to the Vojnův Městec rule . Until 1808 the children of the village attended school in Saar Castle. After teaching in private homes for two years, a school building in Světnov was inaugurated in 1810. Until 1821 Škrdlovice and until 1863 Cikháj after Světnov started school.

In 1840 Swietinow consisted of 95 houses in which 741 Czech-speaking people lived. In the village there is an embezzlement with extensive property, a school and a mill with a board saw. The sinku mill, which also included a board saw, was on the side. The parish was Saar . Until the middle of the 19th century Swietinow remained subject to the allodial property Wognomiestetz .

After the replacement of patrimonial Světňov formed from 1850 a municipality in the judicial district of Přibyslau and the district administration Deutschbrod . From 1868 the village belonged to the Polna district . In 1875 the two-class classes began in Světňov . In 1884 the municipality was assigned to the Chotěboř district . In 1927 the annual pilgrimages of St. Wenceslaus, and the local Orel group donated a statuette of the saint for the chapel. During the German occupation, Zwitnuf was part of the political district of Neustadtl between 1940 and 1945 and returned to Okres Chotěboř after the end of the war. This was dissolved in 1949, since then Světnov belongs to the Okres Žďár nad Sázavou . The Strž reservoir was created between 1952 and 1954. In 1977 it was incorporated into Žďár nad Sázavou . The village of Světnov has existed again since 1990.
