history
The first written mention of Rodkov took place in 1436. The village is named after a locator Rodek. The claim made in popular tradition that the place was formerly called Hrotkov and that craftsmen who made milking pots lived here are not substantiated.
In 1671 Rodkov had a festival and a manorial brewery. Later the fortifications on the Hradisko hilltop were converted into a farm.
After the abolition of patrimonial Rotkov formed a community in the Neustadtl district from 1850 . The place name Rodkov has been used since the beginning of the 20th century .
In 1947 the community was assigned to the Okres Bystřice nad Pernštejnem in the course of the dissolution of the Okres Nové Město na Moravě. 1960 was incorporated into Dolní Rožínka , at the same time the village came to Okres Žďár nad Sázavou . The Rodkov community has existed again since 1992.
