In the center of the village is the Navesní rybník pond, formerly called Mlýnský rybník ( village pond ). The D1 motorway runs past the southern outskirts , the next exit is Měřín .

Neighboring towns are Jersín in the north, Černá in the northeast, Dědkov and Blízkov in the east, Měřín in the southeast, Chlumek in the south, Kamenička in the southwest, Řehořov and Věžnice in the west and Nadějov and Borovský Mlýn in the northwest.

history

The place was probably founded at the beginning of the 13th century as part of the colonization activities of the Benedictine monastery Třebíč and later belonged to the estates of the Měřín provost. The first written mention of Meziříčko, including the court and the fortress, took place in 1409, when the Trebitsch abbot Ignaz pledged the village to Ješek Střečka. Around 1493 Jiří von Řehořov acquired the place. In 1556 the place was called Mezerziczko . After the abolition of the provost, Mezerziczko came to the Jamné reign. In 1585 Václav Přepiský from Rychenburk on Černá and from 1596 Václav Chroustenský from Malovar as the owner. In 1604 the couple Ludmila Chroustenský and Jan Osecký von Oseček followed. They sold the Meziříčko and Řehořov goods in 1615 for 12,000 Moravian guilders to Hynko Grün von Stürzenberg. A festival was mentioned for the last time. Stürzenberg's property was confiscated after the Battle of the White Mountain . In 1624 the Jihlava Jesuit Order bought the village for 8,000 guilders. In the hoof register of 1656, 21 properties are recorded for the village, 7 of which were in desolation. Under the Jesuits, Meziříčko was the center of a small lordship to which the villages of Jamné , Řehořov, Věžnice and Rybné also belonged. In the 18th century the village was called Messreicžko , Meseritzko and Klein Meseritzko . After the Jesuit order was abolished in 1773, the village came to secular owners. In 1785 part of the property was parceled out and the settlements Familie and Samotin founded. In 1726 Václav Kalcher bought the Jamné estate for 3,126 guilders.

After the replacement of patrimonial Meziříčko in 1850 became an independent municipality in the Jihlava district administration. Since 1872 the place name has been Meziříčko . Between 1877 and 1880, Crown Prince Rudolf visited the local inn several times to pass the time. On September 17, 1879, 31 houses in the village burned down. The following year, work began on a railway construction that was never realized. In 1910 another large fire broke out and destroyed the lower side. This led to the establishment of the Meziříčko Volunteer Fire Brigade in 1912 . In 1949 the community was assigned to the Okres Jihlava-okolí and from 1961 it belonged to the Okres Jihlava . In 1975, construction of the motorway began south of the village. On August 20, 1975, several roofs in Meziříčko were damaged by flying rock due to an incorrectly calculated blast. Since January 1st, 2007 the municipality belongs to the Okres Žďár nad Sázavou .
