Řečice (German Retschitz , also Rzetschitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located six kilometers south of Nové Město na Moravě and belongs to the Okres Žďár nad Sázavou .

geography

Řečice is located in the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands in the basin of the Bachečický brook. One kilometer east of the village is the Bobrůvka valley . In the west rise the Skály (629 m) and the Chlumek (650 m).

history

The first written mention of the village took place in 1354 in the course of a dispute that lasted until 1366 between the pastor of Svratka and the Order of St. John in Old Brno about the tithe of the fields at Řečice. The place belonged to the lords of Řečice as a monastic mansion. In 1444, the abbot Jan VIII of the Saar Cistercian monastery ordered the monastic goods and sold the free court in Hodíškov to Ondra von Řečice and his wife for life. Řečice was connected to Hlinné and the Vladike Vaněk Volimír was entrusted with it. After Volimír's death, Abbot Linhart revoked the fief. He inherited the court in Hodíškov to Vavřinec of Řečice and transferred the lower jurisdiction in Řečice to him. Vavřinec bought the farm from Volimír's widow in 1482 and sold it again a little later. Subsequently there were further changes of ownership. The oldest local seal dates from 1667. After the abolition of the monastery in the course of the Josephine reforms, Swratka fell to the Saar's religious fund in 1784. In 1787 Řečice consisted of 39 houses. 324 people belonging to 59 families lived in the village. Among them were a tester, eleven large farmers and three Kötner.

After the abolition of patrimonial Řečice formed from 1850 a district of the municipality Svratka in the Neustadtl district . In 1860 the political municipality Řečice was established. In 1901 the community had 668 inhabitants. In 1929 a cooperative distillery was established next to Tálský Mlýn. In 1949 the community was assigned to the Okres Žďár nad Sázavou in the course of the dissolution of the Okres Nové Město na Moravě . The house of culture was built between 1968 and 1970. The community has had a coat of arms since 1999.
