Obyčtov (German Obicztau , also Obicztow , Obitschdorf ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located eight kilometers southeast of Žďár nad Sázavou and belongs to the Okres Žďár nad Sázavou .
geography
Obyčtov is located in the Oslava Valley in the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands . To the northeast rise the Na Kopci (589 m) and the Skály (629 m), in the west the Kopec (569 m), on which a 30 m high transmitter mast was erected. The Velký Paralikův rybník pond is located southeast of the village. In the west, the state road I / 37 from Žďár nad Sázavou to Křižanov and the railway line Havlíčkův Brod - Tišnov pass, the Ostrov nad Oslavou railway station is 700 m southwest of Obyčtov on the other bank of the Oslava.
Neighboring towns are Jámy in the north, Hlinné in the Northeast, Hodíškov the east, Křiby, Bohdalec and Polák in the southeast, Rychtářův Mlyn, Frelichův Mlyn and Suky in the south, Ostrov nad Oslavou and Kotlasy in the southwest, Březí nad Oslavou in the west and Sazomín and Vatin in Northwest.
history
The first written mention of Ubči was in 1341 in the course of a dispute over the parish tithe . Ubči belonged to the possessions of the Cistercian monastery Saar , which had a court here. In addition, there was a branch of the Crusader Order in the place . In the 15th century the village was called Ubyčtov . The oldest local seal dates from 1667. Since 1672 there was a church in Obyčtov.
After the abolition of patrimonial Običtov formed from 1850 a municipality in the political district of Neustadtl . In 1869 the community had 422 inhabitants. In 1888 the Običtov volunteer fire brigade was founded . The village has been called Obyčtov since the end of the 19th century . In 1911 a mill with a sawmill and starch factory started operations. The following year a cooperative distillery was established. In 1930 391 people lived in the village. Since 1949 the community has belonged to the Okres Žďár nad Sázavou . The community has had a coat of arms and a banner since 1998. Today the place consists of 140 houses.
Obyčtov is now the parish for Sazomín , Vatín , Hodíškov and Suky . Every year there are pilgrimages to the Visitation and Birth of the Virgin Mary .

Attractions
- Baroque Church of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary, built 1730–1735 under the Abbot Václav Vejmluva according to plans by Johann Blasius Santini-Aichl instead of a previous building from 1672. The floor plan of the church is reminiscent of a turtle , which can also be found in the local coat of arms. After the fire in the Zelená Hora pilgrimage church in 1784, the Baroque pulpit, side altar and stone paving were moved from Obyčtov church to Zelená Hora.
